- Single Barrel Bourbon
With a rich history dating back to 1984, this bourbon was crafted under the meticulous supervision of Elmer T. Lee, the Master Distiller at the iconic Buffalo Trace Distillery. It was first created for Albert Blanton's closest circle of family, friends, ambassadors, and dignitaries. The barrels for this distinguished bourbon are selectively chosen from the mid-sections of Warehouse H, the only metal-clad warehouse at Buffalo Trace, which imparts unique aging characteristics due to its temperature fluctuations.
Made using Blanton's mash bill, a distinct sour mash of corn, malted barley, and extra rye, this bourbon is aged in White Oak casks. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of sweet caramel, intertwined with vanilla, nutmeg, lemon, and bright orange citrus. On the palate, one can discern delicate notes of honey, seamlessly balanced with caramel and corn. The finish is warm, leaving a lasting impression of corn, vanilla, and nutmeg.
The heritage of this bourbon is deeply rooted in its limited production, ensuring exceptional quality and making it highly sought after. In 1999, the addition of eight unique horse stoppers to the bottles added a collectible element, each one depicting a different phase of a horse race. Collectors can find these stoppers spelling out "B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S" when lined up together. Domestic releases are available in 750 ml, while international versions come in 700 ml.
